Privacy Policy

Sports Card Hunt is a research site, not an app with accounts — so there isn’t much data to talk about. This page explains, plainly, what we collect, what we don’t, and the few third parties involved. Effective September 13, 2026.

What we collect

Browsing Sports Card Hunt doesn’t create an account or a profile. We don’t collect names, addresses, or payment information, because we never ask for them. The only personal information we ever handle is an email address, and only if you choose to submit one via a “notify me” form — that address is sent directly to our email provider to manage the subscription; it is never stored on our own servers. If you don’t use that form, we don’t have your email.

Third parties involved

eBay — card photos on this site are pulled from live eBay listings, and our “See it on eBay” links are affiliate links (we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you — see About). Clicking through to eBay is subject to eBay’s own privacy policy and cookies, which we don’t control.

Email provider — if you submit an email via a “notify me” form, it’s handled by our third-party email provider under their own privacy policy, not stored by us.

Hosting — like virtually any website, our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs standard technical information (IP address, browser type, pages requested) as part of normal operation and security. We don’t use this to identify individual visitors.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand which pages and players are popular, roughly where visitors are browsing from (country/region level, not precise location), and what people search for on the site — so we know which players to research and add next. It’s privacy-first by design: no cookies, no cross-site tracking, and no data that identifies you personally. We see aggregate patterns (“search for X came up empty 40 times this week”), never an individual’s browsing history.

Cookies & local storage

We don’t set tracking or advertising cookies, and our analytics is cookieless too. The one thing we store in your browser is a light/dark mode preference, saved via local storage on your device — it never leaves your browser and isn’t linked to you personally. You can clear it anytime via your browser’s site settings.

Children’s privacy

Sports Card Hunt is a general-audience hobby and research site and isn’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

Every email from our provider includes an unsubscribe link. Since we don’t store your email ourselves, unsubscribing there is the complete opt-out. You can also block or clear local storage/cookies at any time in your browser settings — the site works fine without them (it just forgets your theme preference and reverts to your device’s setting).

Changes to this policy

If how we handle data changes, we’ll update this page and its effective date above.
